Best Italian restaurant for us. My husband’s been coming here since he was in university. Calamari’s always fresh and delicious. You should also try the best marinara seafood pasta. Wait staffs are excellent especially the main guy, Sam! Worth the time and money! Highly recommended!!

We recently visited this restaurant with high hopes, given our love for Italian cuisine and our constant search for authentic flavors that transport us back to Italy. While the food was good, it didn’t stand out enough to justify the price. For the cost, we were expecting something more unique or memorable. The service was decent, but we waited over 40 minutes for our plates without any updates or acknowledgment from the staff, even though it was clear we were getting restless. Once the food arrived, a staff member did check in with us, which was appreciated, but it left us wondering why they hadn’t approached sooner—especially on a relatively quiet Thursday evening. On a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely. The decor, with its antiques and photos, had a charming touch that genuinely reminded us of some places in Italy. While our first experience here wasn’t the best compared to other Italian restaurants we’ve tried, we’re open to giving it another chance in the future.

My husband and I were both quite taken with the restaurant itself. In the strip of shops in Paddington where the buildings are old and have charm, we could imagine maybe some mob bosses in a secret room out back, staff were warm and welcoming, food was delicious, like someone's Nona cooked it.
I was disappointed when searching for Grappino contact details and it came up “permanently closed”. What? No! Could not be. I love this place. So rang, and sure enough the website search engine was wrong, thankfully. So four of us went last Thursday night. My guests were foodies from Melbourne, and been in the industry for 40years. So it would be interesting how they rated my favourite Italian restaurant. For entrees we had the Garlic Snails, Porcini Mushroom Soup and Sand Crab Cannelloni. My guests were taken aback. It was superb! Then for mains we had the Veal Fungi, the Maiale Pork Cutlet, and Sand Crab Cannelloni (main size). Delicious! We then all had the Mandarin Crepes for desert. The service was fantastic as usual. Food exceptional! But it was nice to have my friends speak so highly about the food and service. It would have to be one of the best restaurants they have been to. I always knew, but it was great to share it was others. So for the best Italian, get over to Grappino. By far the best Italian restaurant I have been to. And thanks to the staff again for a great meal and great service. It made our evening

What a great night! The team there really looked after us and went out of their way to make sure we had the best night possible. The recommended Montepulciano was outstanding and the vintage Grappa a real highlight - not the mention the food; best Italian I've had this year. Highly recommended!
I have been coming here for years. I love their food. It’s just delicious, so full of flavour. My favourite Italian restaurant in Brisbane. The Amatriciana is full of flavour I order this one a lot. I also love the Sand Crab Cannelloni it never disappoints. You must try the honey and thyme carrots as a side dish so good. The atmosphere is great it’s got that classic Italian vibe. The staff are always friendly. Definitely give this restaurant a try.
